Carpet beetle
The shape of the beetle resembles the ladybug. It is small, round and rather grey. It has white and orange line patterns on her back. It measures half an inch in length. Inside the house, the larvae damage carpets, woolen fabrics. They can also lodge in woolen clothing and other animal products. The adults are often in the beds. They enter the house lodged in the cut flowers. They feed on pollen and nectar. The female lays 30 to 100 eggs which hatch in 10 to 18 days. The larva lives between 60 and 325 days and the adults between 20 and 60 days. The damage is caused by the larvae. Contact with it can cause dermatitis in humans.
